Suitable timbers include Pine, Kauri, Cedar, Oak, and Douglas Fir (Oregon). Osmo Wood Wax Finish is not recommended for use on dense hardwoods such as Jarrah or Blackbutt. For these species of hardwoods Oil Stain is recommended. For oily/resinous timbers such as Tallowwood or Spotted Gum, either Wood Wax Extra Thin or 2K Wood Oil is recommended.

For flooring one coat of Wood Wax is recommended, followed by one coat of clear Polyx Oil.

A trial is always recommended first to determine suitability.
